The one off every nineties bedroom wall.

If you were a kid in the nineties, there is a good chance this car was on your bedroom wall.

The F355 arrived in 1994 and fixed everything people grumbled about in the Ferrari before it. The clever bit was hidden in the engine: five valves per cylinder instead of the usual four, which is where the "5" in the name comes from. It let the V8 spin to 8,500rpm and make a noise that people still describe as the best sound any road car has ever made.

Ferrari also spent time in the wind tunnel smoothing the underside of the car so airflow pushed it down onto the road at speed — Formula One thinking applied to something you could park at the shops.

Ours is a tribute in the only colour that really makes sense for a Ferrari. The doors, the wheels, the low wide stance — it all reads exactly right from about three metres away, which is precisely as close as anyone at school drop-off is going to get.
